The planet's corporate nobility showed their stuff in Seattle, WA [USA] last autumn 1999 at the World Trade Organization's meetings. As is typical of those from the international ruling class, they planned the event without much consideration for the locals concerns, made certain the corporate information vehicles told their side of the story and [as Seattle later found out] walked away without paying their part of the bill.
I don't buy the carnard that there is any such thing as a "liberal media". The information systems that exist on any sizable scale are, by and large, multinational corporate enterprises who will purport to espouse any cause that suits their purposes of the moment.
Those who actually do the work in production of humanity's wealth are neither adequately recognized nor compensated. The tacit censorship of virtually all human rights movements contribute to this limited recognition. Hopefully, the Internet shall help to change that.
