I serve as chairman of the local Historic District Commission. My pre-American ethnic roots are Celtic, Northern and Middle European. I also have an abiding interest in the visual images produced by the "specials" [journalist artist-recorders] during the 1860s USA Civil War.
All of these affect the subjects I pursue while learning more about my own heritage and cultural history.
On occasion, I am called upon to research something else. For example, I had to learn a great deal about Somalia, and I saved the most useful sites. When I do a new update, you can expect to see some of these added to a "World Culture" section. historic preservation
