Up and operating again! | Okay. I've finally cleaned up the look of the diary/blog entry page. I'll be keeping it at this format for awhile. And, yes, I'll still be making picture entries.

As you can tell, I've also resumed making entries at all. Still a bit gun shy, still not entirely certain what my actual e-mail address is [still smarting from the Connix-Mindspring transfer]. The addresses I think I have are:
                   • wbrady@rondak.org
                   • wbrady2@mindspring.com
an alternate address you may also use to write me is   • wbrady@operamail.com

Shortly after the 1st of January you'll begin to see resumption ane renovation of the site as a whole. Thanks for bearing with me.

1000 Journals Project | Back in April 2001 I learned of this "international, experimental art project" and asked someguy@1000journals.com to take part in the effort. At the time, he wrote back with some vague agreement that if something [one of the journal books, that is] became available he'd let me know. I figured this meant don't hold my breath, but I kept checking in on the website, which was bad since it only kept me intrigued.

Anyway, around about the end of November, I was e-mailed that some journals were available and to sign up for one. I did, expecting to be somewhere in the middle to a long line of entries. I told a few folks about it [said at home that if I got a package from "Someguy" that I was expecting it] and then forgot about the whole project.

first page of volume 746 When suddenly on 13 Dec there's a parcel in the mail! It took me several days to even open it up but when I did I was ready for it.

Now, I'm not certain what other people have done in their journal entries. My own reflects, certainly, the visual style employed in the opening of my own journals. The content not dis-similar. Not so much on personal stuff [though enough to keep some readers intrigued and coming back], more about my values, and how the world is perceived through that particular set of intellectual "lenses" if you will.

Five other people have, thus far, added journal entries. I have included them here if you'd like to see them. But, actually, I'd rather encourage you to find out more about the 1000 journals project directly.

I may have to be doing this come this spring

Drought! | According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, I am one of the 42 million people who rely upon well water for drinking, bathing, washing and all other things I'd do with captured water.

And, like some folks, I am also one of those who periodically go without water when the well runs dry. Why? Because we have a dug well, which relies upon the level of the groundwater table, which is replenished with rain and snow. Since late September there has been less than 2 inches of rain in this area, and the water table has consistently been lowering. Cause from Global Warming? Possibly. We haven't seen this low level of precipitation for decades. So come spring (can't get a well driller out here quickly anyway) we may be drillend down to some more subterranian aquifer.

Until then, we go back to doing laundry somewhere else, and either bathe down the road at a neighbors, or don't bathe at all. Your choice.
